lush bath

i just had the most amazing hour long bath. I went upstairs with my pile of bathing stuff including one of my favourite bath bombs by lush. it is called Tisty Tosty, I think I mentioned it last night...Anyways this bath bomb has just become my most favourite bath bomb of all time. I smells amazing, like vanilla and roses, and it actually has mini rosebuds floating around, which I think is a really sweet idea, and I love playing with them. Rose is supposed to make you feel more relaxed and calm and also make you feel happier. Which is exactly how I felt when I got out of the bath. The lush website states:
'Tisty Tosty was inspired by the beautiful writings of a literary critic. It was based on a spell used to stir the passions and bring love to you, depending on the state of mind of the caster. With seven roses, if you start positively, it will end positively'
I actually counted my rosebuds and there were indeed 7 rosebuds, just to let you know;)

ins and outs

I'm trying to go to sleep at the moment and that just isn't working, I've been lying here for like 40 minutes waiting for sleep to come...its super annoying. usually I just drop off after ten minutes or so, but not tonight.
so I thought I would do a blog, I haven't blogged on here for ages, because I kind of got a bit over it, but I have been sick for the last week and have been reading other peoples blogs and it reminded me that I used to enjoy it so I thought I'd give it another go.
INS:
*my overseas trip! super excited about that. here is the link so you can be super jealous of me. can't wait!
*finally having my room perfectly clean! I was home, sick from work today and I got a bit restless, so I literally cleaned my whole room, including under my bed and sorted everything out, changed my linen and did a bunch of washing. And I did some cooking and filled up my fridge with healthy meals to just grab on the go.
*my new tone it up gear. they have the cutest stuff, i love it! I got a new jumper, t-shirt and a lunchbox. I made a rule for myself that I was only healthy foods were allowed in that lunchbox and it seems to be working, cos I am losing weight!!:) I will link the tone it up website here
*pretty smelling candles. Since I spent the whole day cleaning my room, I wanted it to smell really pretty as well as look really pretty so I lighted up my favourite candle which I think I have mentioned in a previous post, its the Christopher Vine candle. It smell amazing, and my room smelt beautiful.
*My LUSH stash. My stash had been getting pretty low, so I went into Lush the other day to get a couple of things, including a shower gel for my mum, its called happy hippy. it smells amazing, its so zesty and great for waking you up in the morning. I got myself a 'its raining men' shower gel, (its smells soo good! (I use it after the gym) a 'tisty tosty' which is making my bathroom smell amazing at the moment, like roses and vanilla, I love the scent, I wish they made a shower gel with that scent. I also got a bunch of other ones, but maybe I will do a separate blog on that.
OUTS
*having a cold. I was soo sick for literally a week, I haven't been to work in a week. which has kind of been nice, because I haven't necessarily been enjoying work at the moment, and my body was starting to feel a bit weary and run down.
*the huge frickin pimple on my chin at the moment. little bugger. I'm killing it at the moment with Ella Bache's creme intense #2 I think it is called. I literally scraped it out of the container and then threw it out, so I can't remember what its called. It smells terrible, but it does a good job. I discovered recently that my skin is a bitch and I can't really use typical pimple gels or even good old tea tree oil because my face becomes all inflamed and red...not a good look.
*being poor. I'm trying to save as much money as possible for my trip, but it is super hard to save especially since I just want to go out and shop til I drop. And my trip is coming up really soon, it is literally four and a half months away!! eep! really have to get onto that saving thing.
*not being able to sleep. that sucks. maybe I'll go have a glass of milk now and see if that works.

Rewards

I need something to look forward to, so that I keep motivated. I was looking at the website for running bare and they have the cutest shorts for the gym ( which I also need, running low on shorts). So at the end of the 5 week period that I set myself, if I have achieved my goals I will get these shorts.

wish me luck!

music

I'm going through my itunes at the moment, trying to find good workout music. I find that having awesome workout music is really important as I tend to keep in time with the beat and it also keeps me interested and having fun:)

Any suggestions on music that motivates you and  increases your pace at the gym?

quitting sugar

there is a book out at the moment, which i haven't personally read (yet!) but my housemate goes on about it called 'sweet poison: why sugar makes us fat' by David Gillespie. My interest was piqued when I was watching an interview with him where he states that fructose is essentially not recognised by the body and is directly converted to fat, and does not encourage satiation. Suprisingly this makes sense to me and unfortunately I agree with it. I say unfortunately because I am a sugarholic. David Gillespie asserts that sugar is addictive and he likens giving up sugar to giving up smoking. Although I'm sure its even harder as sugar is everywhere, in everything and somethings that it is in would surprise you.
my mission this week is to see if I can borrow his books from my local library and read them this weekend. I'm also going to start making meal plans which include healthy, nutritious food with lots of protein and low sugar content.
David Gillespie's website http://www.howmuchsugar.com/
and another website about an Australian journalist/blogger who is quitting sugar and also conducted an interview with David Gillespie, which sparked my interest http://www.sarahwilson.com.au/category/i-quit-sugar/
hope everyone has a good weekend. I suspect mine will be filled with reading books and cookbooks:) and maybe doing my tax. eep!

ps I would have put a picture of something yummy and filled with sugar to illustrate my point, but I find that those sort of pictures just make me crave the sugar, which isn't really fair is it?

photo

so this is a photo of me when i was overseas, which i absolutely hate because it looks like i have a tire around my belly and what has really encouraged me to give this losing weight thing a go. I really don't like this photo, but I'm going to use it to motivate me to get fitter, healthier and lose some weight.

am going home to my parents place tomorrow, and mum is always trying to eat healthy, and has no yummy food in the house so I should be able to eat healthy for the next three days. I may even take home some of my healthy cookbooks and show her a thing or two:)
